Property Address: 4959 Elcho Road - A minor variance application has been applied for to permit an addition to an existing house including a
second storey and a covered porch, that does not meet the required front yard setback of 15 metres. A
portion of the existing house is approximately 9 metres from the front property line. The proposal is to extend
the deficient front yard setback for a ground floor and second storey addition with a setback of no less than 9
metres to the front property line, whereas 15 metres is required. A 2.4 metre (8 feet) covered porch is also
proposed with a setback of 6.8 metres from the front property line, whereas the bylaw only permits a
projection of up to 1.5 from the required 15 metre front yard setback (13.5 metres from the front property line).
